September is Hunger Action Month.
According to the latest data from Feeding America's Map the Meal Gap, 48 million neighbors including individuals, families, seniors and children are at risk of hunger across the United States. Here in Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, St. Joseph and Starke Counties, 121,400 (16.4%) neighbors inclduing 38,450 (21%) children are food insecure.
