25th Annual ACF South Bend Chefs and Cooks Association Michiana Chili Cook-Off Slated for Sunday, October 8, - in Mishawaka’s Central Park Proceeds to Benefit Food Bank of Northern Indiana
WHO: American Culinary Federation South Bend Chefs and Cooks Association benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
WHAT: 25th Annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off.
A variety of local restaurants and organizations will offer sample size portions of their “winning” chili and compete for the coveted 2023 Michiana Chili Cook-Off traveling trophy. Past entries in the cook-off have included squash, white, vegetarian, vegan, beef, pork and chicken chilis with just about every kind of bean or no bean at all. The chilis are sometimes accompanied by a garnish of cornbread, ciabatta bread, fresh chips and a variety of toppings.

Local celebrity judging and your vote, the popular vote, will take place with first, second and third place winners announced beginning at 3:30 p.m. In addition, a trophy will be awarded for the best decorated booth.

Tickets: $10/adult at the door – all you can eat sample chili and one voting ticket; $5/child (under 10); under 2 are free.

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana works in partnership with the community to feed the hungry, increase awareness of the effects of hunger and lead programs designed to alleviate hunger. The Food Bank of Northern Indiana serves Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph Counties and is a member of Feeding America, Feeding Indiana’s Hungry and United Way.
A $1.00 donation buys nearly three meals. 94 cents of every dollar donated goes back into our community to support programming.
