23rd Annual ACF South Bend Chefs and Cooks Association Michiana Chili Cook-Off Slated for Sunday, October 17, Noon - 4 p.m.

Hosted at Martin’s Super Market Heritage Square Location. Proceeds to Benefit ACF South Bend Chefs and Cooks Association and Food Bank of Northern Indiana

WHO: American Culinary Federation South Bend Chefs and Cooks Association and Martin’s Super Markets.

WHAT: 23rd Annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off.

A variety of local restaurants and organizations will offer sample size portions of their “winning” chili and compete for the coveted 2021 Michiana Chili Cook-Off traveling trophy. Past entries in the cook-off have included squash, white, vegetarian, vegan, beef, pork and chicken chilis with just about every kind of bean or no bean at all. The chilis are sometimes accompanied by a garnish of cornbread, ciabatta bread, fresh chips and a variety of toppings.

All you can eat sample chili from some of the 2021 confirmed participants include:

Elkhart General Hospital
Fiddlers Hearth
St. Clair’s Butcher Shoppe and Deli
Bistro 933
Weiss Gast Haus
Levy at Notre Dame
Martin’s Side Street Deli Food Truck
Real Services Food Truck
Smothered and Covered Food Truck

  • Local celebrity judging and your vote, the popular vote, will take place with first, second and third place winners announced beginning at 3:30 p.m. In addition, a trophy will be awarded for the best decorated booth.

 

  • Enter into raffle for gift cards which will also be drawn during course of events for various restaurants around Michiana.

 

  • Beer Tent! Craft Beer provided by Indiana Beer and Weiss Gast Haus providing Gluhwein, German spiced wine (extra cost); beer tent is for ages 21 and over only).

 

  • Ken the Balloon Artist, Caramel Apples, Hot Cider, Live Music from Ground Control and more!


Tickets: $10/adult at the door – all you can eat sample chili and one voting ticket; $5/child ages 3-8; under 2 are free.

This is an outdoor event. Mask wearing is recommended but not mandatory. Hand sanitizer will be available at various stations.
