The Community Food Pantry of St. Joseph County and the Food Bank of Northern Indiana will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The Community Food Pantry will reopen Wednesday, January 21, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The Food Bank of Northern Indiana administrative offices will reopen Tuesday, January 20, at 8 a.m.

Neighborhoods Can Take Action and Help Restock the Food Bank of Northern Indiana's Shelves During This Time of Great Need.

September is Hunger Action Month. Food insecurity had reached its highest rate in over a decade with 47 million people facing hunger including 14 million children. Here in Northern Indiana, 111,110 (15%) neighbors including 34,000 (18.8%) children - these neighbors don't have enough food and don't know where their next meal will come from. The neighbors who need food assistance look like any of us.

It's time to take action.

On the second Saturday in May, letter carriers in more than 10,000 communities will collect food donations along their postal routes to restock food banks and pantries during the nation's largest one-day food drive.

The Pokagon Band and its Four Winds Casinos will provide 185 Easter Boxes for distribution at the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, 702 Chapin Drive, South Bend, IN, 46601, on Tuesday, April 15, from 1 p.m. ET - 2:30 p.m. ET, while supplies last. One box per household. Vehicles should enter the parking lot at the corner of Chapin Street and United Drive as you would for a food pantry distribution
